Peregrine Falcon Updates Page 3 of blog. NEWS UPDATE: June 23:
Maize made it back to the rooftop again after her long flight last evening.
She went exploring in what I call a pigeon coop, because a lot of pigeons hang out there.
Nice place to hang out, in a 90 degree day. Probably the only shade up on the roof.
Pigeons are wondering why there is a falcon in their home.
NEWS UPDATE: June 23: 6:00pm The photos you have all been waiting for, or at least I have. Maize was amazing. She flys so well and she showed off for me tonight. Enjoy!
Ok, so she didn't stick this landing, but she did well with the rest! And, where was good ol' dad during this wonderful moment.
Making friends with a blue heron, circling high above. UPDATE: June 24: 6:00pm No New news tonight. Majesty perched on a windowsill and Maize on the ledge keeping out of direct sunlight as the second day of 90-degree heat took a toll on all of us. I don't blame them a bit not to want to exert too much energy in this heat. Neither one moved much while I was there. Barry was nowhere in site. He was either out hunting or in a shady place himself. No exiting photos to post this time, but all is well.
UPDATE: June 25: 7:00am Again no big news this morning. All three are doing fine and hanging out on the rooftop on the opposite side of the building that they usually do.
UPDATE: June 25: 6:00pm The family was fine tonight after heavy storms passed through Flint this afternoon. Everytime the sun came out Maize would spread her wings and turn so that the sun light would dry them. Majesty perched nearby until Barry showed and they both flew around abit.
UPDATE: June 26: 6:00pm Beautiful evening for flying, but I couldn't hold the camera steady for anything tonight. Here is a couple fuzzy pics of Maize and her mom, Majesty.

COMMENTS: Betty Doolittle Tuininga: Dan the pictures of Maize's progress were phenomenal! You obviously traced the movements with the same pride a parent traces a child's first steps. It was wonderful having the opportunity to see the event in pictures. Thank you for your careful documentation. Realty took on a new meaning though when I read your story...The falcons are fascinating but they are what they are...great writing by the way. eagle63_1999: Hooray for Maize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
